Meet the Team
Imran Khan is the Founder and Chair of the Investment Committee (CIO) of Proem. In prior roles, Imran served as Snap Inc.’s Chief Strategy Officer, where he oversaw the company’s corporate strategy, monetization, business operations, and partnerships. Previously, Imran was the Head of Global Internet Investment Banking at Credit Suisse and Head of Global Internet Research at J.P. Morgan.Imran earned a B.S.B.A in Finance & Economics from the University of Denver.
Tom Schmidt is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Proem. Prior to Proem, Mr. Schmidt was the Head of Global Research for J.P. Morgan and a member of the firm's Executive Management Committee which ran the Investment Bank. He had direct responsibility for research in all asset classes across Equities, Fixed Income, Commodities and Economics as well as all macro analysis and strategies, globally. During his 27 year career at J.P. Morgan, Mr. Schmidt also led the Global Equity Research team as well as Equity Sales, Trading and Marketing teams in North America. Mr. Schmidt holds a BA from Hobart College and an MBA in Finance from the NYU Stern School of Business.
Greg Pearson is the Chief Operations Officer (COO) and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Proem. Prior to Proem, Mr. Pearson was the Chief Financial Officer at Marble Ridge Capital since 2019. Prior to Marble Ridge Mr. Pearson was the Chief Operating Officer, Chief Financial Officer and Chief Compliance Officer at Alder Hill Management from 2014 to 2019, and prior to that, he was the Chief Financial Officer at Gracie Asset Management from 2000 to 2014. Before joining Gracie, Mr. Pearson was a manager within the financial services group at BDO. Mr. Pearson holds a BS in Accounting from Georgetown University and is a CPA.
Anya Ngo is a Senior Director and Investment Analyst of Proem. Prior to Proem, Ms. Ngo served on the strategy team at Snap Inc., where she was involved with various financing activities, company acquisitions, executive-mandated projects, and long-term strategic initiatives. Prior to joining Snap Inc. in 2015, Ms. Ngo was a member of the Tradable Credit Business Development and Investor Relations team at Ares Management from 2013 to 2015. Prior to this, Ms. Ngo was an analyst in the Technology Investment Banking group at Credit Suisse from 2011 to 2013. She holds a B.A. in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley.
